The reason I chose this title is not that smoking can cause an early death [although we are all full aware of that, I hope ], but that life can be compared with a cigarette in many ways.

Think of it. It's the spark of love that leads to a new human being born - and it it also a spark that you use to light up a cigarette. As years go by, your life becomes shorter, and eventually you wither and die - just as a cigarette burns itself out over time. Sometimes you crush a cigarette before you finish smoking it - sometimes, life can end just as violently. And finally, sometimes you throw a cigarette away while it's burning - and just as easily you can throw away your life.
